Happy Halloween!

Good Morning Everyone!! Happy Halloween! It's been a lot busy here lately. (when isn't it, right?) I hope all of you that were in the path of Sandy find yourselves safe and sound today!!

Today's nail art is one I did last spring, but haven't posted just because the color combination so obviously screamed Halloween! So, I saved it just for today.

Without further ado, I bring you pictures!

I used Mattetastrophe to give the orange a matte finish and left the black glossy and  trimmed the diagonal with a gold glitter.

I hope your Halloween is filled with more treats than tricks!! What are you dressing up as?? I still have no clue! :O

Post Wedding Check-in

Well, I have made it through all the insanity and I think I managed to not loose my mind. lol We are now moved into our new place (though not completely) and we had a lovely wedding, and we're enjoying our "family honeymoon" this weekend. I'll be back to posting regularly, but initially, I will no longer be making daily posts. I will, however be posting at least once a week while I try to get our daily lives back to normal and get the lil one set up for the new school year.

Without further ado - I bring you a wedding photo! For the moment, it's the only one I have access to but I promise to post at least one more of the entire dress.

Of course, since this is a nail blog - this entry would not be complete without a photo of my manicure for the day!! I did my nails with Gelish and I took this picture almost a week later so there is some growth going on there. I still love the look!

The flowers are from my daughter's bouquet. She was one of my bridesmaids and I had to get the nails with the flowers becauses I did like my wedding flowers. I wonder how much of that is because I did my own flowers? haha!

That's all for this week - I'll see you all next Sunday! Have a nailicious week!

MY Bridal Nails

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday! As I previously promised, today I'll be showing off the nails I plan on wearing for my own wedding. This will be my third marriage (his first) and we've decided to keep it VERY low key and casual. I will still be wearing a dress - but it'll be a tie-dyed strapless cotton sundress. Orange and blue. After six kids and two previous marriages, I'm just so far beyond a "white" dress it's not even funny.

I already have matching jewelry that was made for me by a friend and I promise to post pix of the completed look when it's closer to the big day.

The dress is tye-dyed and the perfect matching mani for it is a watermarble!! It just don't get any better than that. Here's another shot of it.

Of course, my favorite orange shade is China Glaze's "Riveting" from the Hunger Games Collections and that's the orange I used here. The Navy/purple is just a cheap polish I picked up on sale at CVS and is from my personal nail polish stash. Yah, I really do keep a separate set of nail polishes just for myself. I mean if a client really really likes it, sure I'll use it. It is just one of the few polishes that I have purchased with myself, rather than clients, in mind.

I hope you enjoyed seeing a preview peek of my wedding attire and thank you for reading!

Fly Butterflies Fly

Happy Saturday to you! This morning's nail art is inspired by a few different things. The first one is the gazillion of butterflies we have everywhere happily flitting around a bunch of flowering weeds we have here and there. It adds to the ambiance, love to sit in my yard and just read a book in the sunshine! Add that to the many butterfly tutorial on YouTube and pinterest - there's no way I can NOT do at least one.

I think I went a little too over the top with the dots, but I can always do less dots going forward.

That's going to be it for today - I hope your weekend is off to a great start!!

I'm feeling Tigerish..How About You?

Happy Monday everyone!! This morning's nail art manicure is one I'm genuinely excited about!!  I was inspired by an comment on my personal facebook page about yesterday's blog post. I am so happy with how this came out that I got a little more creative with my pictures than I usually do!!

I'm holding a hand carved gazelle Tommy's parents got in Africa. I thought it fitting  for the theme.

There I'm holding a carved Lion. I cropped the head out of the picture since it's not actually a Tiger and to maintain some halfway decent proportions to the photo.

This one was relatively simple to do. I have the perfect golden/orange nail polish by Milani, Metallic Mango. Using a make-up sponge, I sponged on Milani's Golden Goddess  at a diagonal. Finally, using another make-up sponge, added white to the corner of each nail.  Using one of my newly purchased stamping plates I stamped on the stripes in black. A nice top coat of Seche Vite and *POOF* I have Tiger Nails!

I hope you enjoyed and if you gave this a try - post the link to it in the comments!! (Links to anything other than Tiger Nails will be deleted so be good!)

Ireland

Good Morning and Happy Hump Day! The week is now half over, and I did indeed get to spend a few hours working on nail art. Not all my designs worked out, so I'm going to try again tonight but some of the designs did come out very well. This morning's nail art is not especially challenging, but what collection of St. Patrick's Day themed Nail Art would be complete without the Irish flag?

I have more pictures, but they all essentially look exactly the same as that one. I really like flag nail art - it's really a lot of fun, some are more simple than others, but it's fun to wear and fun for me to do! Tomorrow, I have a really awesome nail art to bring you. I had the same idea as someone else but I added a little twist to it just to separate it from the other "Great Minds Think Alike" mani.

See you tomorrow and have a Groovy Hump Day!

A More Subtle Approach

Good Afternoon! Today's post is a little later than normal because we spent all day yesterday welcoming my mother and father-in-law home after a two month cruise. After a wonderful but exhausting day, I was just too tired last night to remove my Gelish. I have been able to get to it and now I've found the time to post pictures of my efforts.

I decided to keep my gelish simple and just use a simple white. It's great as a background color and also great for putting polishes over. Since St. Patrick's Day is this Saturday, I thought I'd begin showing some St. Patrick's Day themed Nail Art.

Today's Nail Art I thought I would skip the obvious shamrock and go for something more subtle. I happened to have this design on my stamping plate and it always brings to mind "Celtic Knotwork". I thought it would be perfect for this one.

The green and orange are from the Irish Flag and I felt mixed with the knotwork, it would be a more subtle "Ode to Ireland". I'll leave it to you to decide how that worked, I personally like it.

And one more just because I can and have them today.

Here's a few more in the shade.

So that's about it for today. I'll be doing some more art later today to post during the rest of the week. I wonder if I can find a way to put "Guinness" on my nails? Because what's St. Patrick's Day without Guinness??
