Blue Foil French

Good Morning and Happy Friday. No #FishEggMani today, I'm still a lot burned out on it after wearing it for five whole days. Instead, I'm bringing you a twist on the french mani that I did last night but the pictures didn't come out. It turns out that it's just as well they didn't. I came up with some tweaks to the original thought I had by alternating the colors.

I'm still in love with Orly's "Snowcone" and I was dying to try it as a french. Originally, my thought had been to just do the blue with the foil at the end, separated by the blue glitter stripe. Tonight I had the thought that it would be so much cooler to alternate the foil and the blue.

I'm definitely pleased with how much better these came out than my original design. I've long been a fan of adding color to the old fashioned "french" and dressing it up a bit. Apparently that's really trending these days and that makes me a little giddy to know I've been way ahead of this trend.

I hope you enjoyed today's fun twist on an old favorite and thank you for reading!

Matte Ombre French?

Good Morning, I hope you have enjoyed your weekend so far. I certainly have been! I went out with my fav uncle Friday night, attending a great birthday party with my youngest daughter for one of her school friends, and  last but definitely not least, MY CAR IS FIXED! After it sitting in the driveway for months while some major work was being done, it sure did get dusty and dirty!! I spent the evening completely cleaning out the inside and  soon as I can get going, I'm going to be washing the outside!

Now, on to the nails! Quite some time ago, I purchased some Manglaze matte topcoat. I have had matte topcoats in the past, but I love the guys behind this for their sense of humor - so I purchased one of theirs. I have as of yet to use it for anything other than the occasional guy. No color, just the matte polish.

So I was messing around in my studio last night and trying out different pink polishes and seeing how they looked with the matte top coat.

It seems that as long as it's not an outright glitter and the more sparkly a polish is, the hotter it looks with the matte top coat.

I also tried it with Harvest Moon from the Hunger Games collection...wow. But I'll be showing that off come Halloween. ;) Here's another pictures just cuz I really really like this look.

I hope you guys enjoyed today's random ombre and thanks for reading my blog!

Toning it down!

Good Morning and Happy Friday Eve! Today's nail art is not super bold and a bit toned down. I had a suggestion from an animal lover friend of mine who is not allowed to wear super bold nail art at work. A challenge!! Show the animal love and still be work conservative. This is what I came up with.

This is another one that depending on how conservative you need to be, you can do this on one accent nail and then just a regular french on the rest or you can do all ten fingers like this.  I am considering doing a version of this on all ten fingers...we'll see.

Wild Saturday Night Mani!

Good Morning everyone!! As you all know, my latest obsession is tutorials on YouTube, and I decided to give these animal print ones a try. I've already done several versions of the cheetah print - so this time I actually did it in the "natural" colors.

From left to right: a full Cheetah Print, a zebra print "french", a "cow" print french, a giraffe print french and finally a tiger print french. A few more pictures because I just love these.

I had made previous attempts at these nails but I just couldn't seem to the get the hang of doing it on my own hand. I guess some nail arts I'll never be able to do on myself. For these I used polish except for the giraffe and the actual print. I didn't have a polish color that even came close to the ones I needed to do the giraffe, so I used acrylic to do the french part too.

Thanks for checking out my blog post today! I hope you enjoyed.  I also spent last night working on my own nails for Tommy's Grandfather's 91st birthday! I have no idea if I'll post them right away or not. It really depends on how I feel when I get home tonight, and do I feel like working on this or not.

Fun and Fruity

Good Morning! I hope you're Thursday is off to a wonderful start. So far, mine is going pretty great. Today's Nail Art is just a little cherries as an accent nail and red over pink french design. I really liked this design so much that I did the french on the rest of my nails and wore it. I really love the color combo - It's my one and only Essie polish left.

I copied the design off my stamping plate but it is not actually stamped. I had stamped it but I thought that it was simple enough that I could do it free-hand - so I did! I actually think this came out better doing it free-hand than if I had stamped it.

I did pick up some micro-beads yesterday at Michael's but I'm really going to just fool around with them to figure out how to best make use of them and do so in a timely way. While it's awesome that I can sit at home for hours and fuss over a design, I am still trying to "sell" the design and more specifically it's application by me. Which means it has to be done in some kind of timely way or it's just not worth it.  It took me time to get the hang of working with tiny tiny rhinestones, so I'm sure I will figure something out for the beads. I'm just that determined! I did a little hands-on experimenting with it last night and I'll be cruising through YouTube this afternoon to see what I can find. Definitely expect to see designs in the future making use of them!
