Today's Challenge is Gradients! This is really one of my favorites in general - there's so many things you can do with it, use it as a background for other nail art or just on it's own, with and without glitter or flakies. It's just fabulous. As you'll have already noticed - I done this twice already as part of the challenge but today's gradient is one of my most often used designs and I used all my favorite purple polishes.
We have many fabulous sunsets here in florida but if you ever look to the east at sunset, it sometimes look like nighttime is *rising* with the sky going from black to purple to blue again from the horizon on up. Or at least that's what I was going for anyway.
I started with a base of Savvy's "Blue Frost" and sponged on OPI's "Purple with a Purpose". Next, I sponged on OPI's "OPI Ink" and did a very small stripe of Orly's "Liquid Vinyl" at the free edge of the nail. Finally, I put a layer of Jade's "Star Lites" silver glitter, brushing it on from free edge to cuticle to make sure the glitter went on heavier near the free edge.
I hope you enjoy this one as much as I did doing it. I took a break for a few days from banging nail art after nail art, so I wore this one during that break just because I liked it so much.
Pretty!!! I love purple ;0)
